President Chris Siple called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. The minutes of the September meeting were approved
Alcova Heights Park Report: Barbara Clements attended the first meeting. Other meetings are scheduled into the spring. The improvements to the park concentrate on fixing existing structures and ADA compliance. Interesting Note: Wildlife use 6th street as their main travel route to and from Four Mile Run.
Meeting Time Survey: 25 responses: 8 want 7:00 and 17 want 7:30 These are preliminary results. The survey will be left open for two more months to see if additional people will respond,
Barcroft Building Roof Repair: Bids were reviewed: $950 to repair vs $12,000 to replace. It was decided that repair was sufficient and will be the approach to this issue.
Ad Manager needed: This job is administrative. Edit content and respond to inquiries Does not involve direct sales unless the new manager wants to try and expand advertising content. Time commitment 1 to 2 hours per month.

She spoke on two main subjects:
Columbia Pike Multimodal: South Joyce Street to Arlington/Fairfax County Line. The Objective is to make Columbia Pike a “Complete Street” with left turn lane in all intersections. The changes are being made west to east and has been going on since 2002: All utilities are going underground. The objective is a balance between pedestrian, bicycle, transit and vehicle spaces.
B) Columbia Pike Parallel Bicycle Routes: 9th Street S & 12th Street South

Discussion of County Water Projects: Currently working on 9th street. If the water main is old they are replacing them as they go. Expect more water shutoffs; they are distributing doorhangers when the shutoffs are planned.
