Delegate Warren G. Stambaugh

Warren Stambaugh ably represented Barcroft as our State Assemblyman for seventeen years beginning in 1973.

He is pictured above as the Grand Marshal for our first Fourth of July parade in 1989. His tragic death in 1990 left the neighborhood with a keen sense of loss. This photo embodies many of his memorable qualities and was included in the Conservation Plan to honor him.

Arlington County has an account of Delegate Stambaugh's many achievements.

The Warren G. Stambaugh Foundation, established after his death to memorialize him by promoting the values he struggled for, helped to finance the construction of the handicapped ramp in 2002 to make the Barcroft Community House accessible to all.
