Welcome to Barcroft Neighborhood
Resolution on Lot Coverage RestrictionsWhereas the Barcroft Neighborhood Conservation Plan states that we want to preserve the uncrowded atmosphere of the neighborhood as much as possible; and Whereas the Barcroft Neighborhood Conservation Plan states that construction of oversized infill houses is entirely inappropriate in our neighborhood setting and requests that no variances be approved to permit construction of oversize houses on Barcroft lots; and Whereas the current proposals for revising Arlington's lot coverage regulations would result in curbing the size of infill development and outsized additions to houses in our neighborhood; and Whereas the Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee has examined the various proposals now being circulated for potential action by the Arlington County Board on lot size regulations and has adopted a position that would restrict new houses to reasonable sizes, now therefore be it
Resolved that the Barcroft School and Civic League supports the lot coverage proposal adopted by the Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee and urges the Arlington County Board to adopt it or a similar proposal to limit the size of new houses in Arlington neighborhoods.
