Dear Mr. O'Neal:

I am writing to express my opposition to the granting of a wine and liquor license, or any other ABC license to Hi Cue Billiards, Inc., 940A S. George Mason Drive, Arlington VA, license # 17332. This application has been widely condemned by the Arlington County Board, the Douglas Park Civic Association's Executive Board, the East Barcroft Association, the Barcroft School and Civic League and the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization.

I am extremely concerned about the negative impact that the granting of an ABC license to this establishment would have on the community. There has been a history of criminal incidents, include four homicides within the past decade at the establishment. It is my belief that the granting of an alcohol license will only add to the potential for future violent incidents.

While public safety alone should be a sufficient criteria to deny this application, I also note that the sale of alcohol would adversely affect real property values and substantially reduce the existing level of tranquility of the nearby residences.

I respectfully ask the ABC to deny the application.
