Subject: Call for volunteers 4th of July Parade

Hi everyone, preparations are under way for the 4th of July parade and picnic...less than three weeks away. Actually the event almost happens by itself...folks just show up and stuff gets done.

So far,

Alan Dickerson and Scott Peterson are getting the BBQ crew together. Marcia Oresky will hopefully return to be parade director. I'm hoping that Bill Nehrke can do his magic with the sound system (Bill please confirm). The Cackley family singers will give their sweet notes to the National anthem. Uncle Sam is flying in from Florida for the event. Rand Bass will be setting up the viewing stand. Scott Brinitzer, as always, makes the garden look beautiful. Gary Lefebvre writes the check so I can buy the goods and hire a wonderful magic act. The Fire Dept and Police Dept have been notified. Jack Turner will no doubt put up the signs and gather the band. Christine Cavoli will be sending out a flier in the next BSCL newsletter....lots of folks help this happen.

I will need help in the set up and during the picnic...please let me know if you can turn up about 7:30 on the 4th to help set up. Also if you would like to help Alan with the food during thje picnic let me know. Clean up is never a problem...we are awash with good citizens in our neighborhood who stick around.

And of course, please bring a side dish to share...watermelons, cakes, lemonade, hot dogs and hamburgers will be supplied.

Hope to see you there and in the parade!

If you have any ideas on how to make this the best parade yet please feel free to share!

Thanks.
