County seeks input on permit parkingFrom: Shaheena Malik [mailto:Smalik@arlingtonva.us] Sent: Tuesday, May 31, 2005 2:59 PM To: (long list)
Subject: Residential Permit Parking
As you are aware, Arlington County has been undergoing a major review of its Residential Permit Parking program. County staff has conducted a community outreach process for over a year, and will soon be taking its final recommendations to the Planning and Transportation Commissions and the County Board. We are very pleased with the changes we are proposing. The County s draft recommendations that were presented in March have been revised based on citizen feedback and further research. The program changes regard issues such as which properties are eligible to participate in zoned parking, sizes and locations of zones, how the program is managed and enforced, visitor passes, and the hours that zoned parking is in effect. The recommendations currently are being finalized, but they will be online at www.parkarlington.com beginning June 9, 2005. If you have questions about the recommendations, please come to an open Question and Answer Session on June 13th at 7 pm in the County Board room. Public hearings will take place before the Transportation Commission on June 23rd, the Planning Commission on June 27th and the County Board on July 9th. I have attached a flyer for you to distribute to your organization's members. If you have further questions, please contact the County at park@arlingtonva.us. Thank you very much,
Sarah Stott
