Barcroft Community House logo.Welcome to Barcroft Neighborhood

Barcroft Loves its Parade!

July 4, 2008 - Reasonable weather and our 20th parade!

A sad note:
This was our first parade in 20 years without neighborhood character and band
leader Jack Turner. For years he put up our meeting signs every month,
directed or played in the parade band, played his trumpet at our annual
holiday celebration and hand-lettered our unique parade signs. Jack drew
the Community House logo you see above, too.

We miss you, Jack.

It was a fine day for a parade, and here they come.

Parade Director for Life Andrew Hunter got us organized.

The cooks fired up the grill, led once again by Phil Anderson, Alan Dickerson and Scott Peterson.

Arlington's finest, directed by Captain Michele Nuneville, were on hand.

The Woman's Club of Arlington generously lends us their parking lot.

Band Director Melissa Bishop organizing her unruly mob.

The National Guard Color Guard from Arlington Hall led off the parade.

Uncle Sam was there again to be our parade marshal..

The Blue Jeans Band warms up on traditional marches.

The Morris Dancers came again this year, They
danced all the way and afterwards too.

This year you can see the entire parade go by on YouTube

It takes just five minutes, and if you have a fast connection
you can click on "View in High Quality" to see it better.

Flags were waving
