February 2, 2006 Meeting
Barcroft Community House, 7:30 p.m.

Committee Reports
- Membership Report-Membership currently at 350.
- Treasurer's Report-Annual Spaghetti Dinner brought profit of $220. It was proposed that the rental price of the Community House be raised. Executive Committee will meet to discuss.
- Advertising-newsletter is looking for advertisers. Email jim@bscl.org for information.
- Columbia Pike President's meeting was held to discuss redesign of Arlington Mill Center. Current plan would not include space for the English as a second language program for adults.
o Motion was proposed to send letter to the County requesting the program be hosted at the new Arlington Mill Center. Motion carried, no opposition.
Presentations
Neighborhood Conservation Plan, Randy Swart -Volunteers needed to update the Barcroft Neighborhood Conservation Plan (last updated 1990) to address improvements we want done in the next 10 years. This plan allows the neighborhood to determine where Arlington public funds will be spent in maintaining the neighborhood.
- Tim McIntosh is our neighborhood conservation staff liaison with County Housing and Neighborhood Services-tmcintosh@arlington.va.us, 703-228-3829.
- Sample areas of concern include: traffic patterns, streetlights, sidewalks, beautification, parks, commercial development, effect of Columbia Pike new form-based code.
- Process: Contact Randy Swart for details on available committees-randy@bscl.org. Committees will meet shortly to decide what questions should be asked on neighborhood survey. Upon tallying of survey results, committees will then draft language to include in the plan regarding the collective neighborhood opinion on certain issues.
These are draft minutes not yet formally approved by the BSCL.
