  • Membership Report-Over 220 people joined last month. See www.bscl.org for forms and dues, ($3/adult, $6/family). Many also made contributions for the community house restoration fund.

    Presentations

  • Randy Swart, NCAC Plan. The Barcroft Neighborhood Conservation Plan states that the neighborhood does not support the construction of oversized infill houses and wishes to preserve the historical atmosphere of the neighborhood in general. The Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee (NCAC) supports reducing the amount of a lot on which a house, including outbuildings, may be built. Currently, the lot coverage limit is 56%.

  • Vote to approve a resolution stating that BSCL supports the lot coverage proposal adopted by the NCAC and urges the Arlington County Board to adopt it or a similar proposal to limit the size of new houses in Arlington neighborhoods-passed.

  • Volunteers needed to update the Barcroft Neighborhood Conservation Plan (last updated 1990). This plan allows the neighborhood to determine where Arlington public funds will be spent in maintaining the neighborhood. Contact Randy Swart for details on available committees-randy@bscl.org.
These are draft minutes not yet formally approved by the BSCL.

Drafted November 8, 2005 by Recording Secretary Heidi Wicker.
