Donate to Renovate!Help the Barcroft Community House go Green
Note: this is historic, and Chris Ditta's campaign raised enough funding to undertake the renovation. We still need donations to support other improvements.
The BSCL needs your help this summer of 2010 to raise $40,000. The interior of the Barcroft Community House will be renovated to increase energy efficiency and help the Community House to go green. In addition, replacement of the ceiling and walls will increase aesthetic charm and update electrical and lighting. The BSCL will hire a contractor to complete the following construction projects:
- Raise the Ceiling in the Main Hall: The current ceiling will be raised, and replaced with a wooden beadboard ceiling. New electrical wiring will be installed, ceiling fans with light fixtures will replace the old lights, and all surfaces will be painted.
- Replace Wall in the Main Hall: The current walls will be resurfaced mold- and moisture-resistant drywall. New electrical wiring will be installed to support additional stage lighting, and the new walls will be insulated and painted.
- Insulate the Kitchen and Stage Attic: All exposed ductwork and the ceiling will be insulated to make the Community House GREENER! The BSCL currently has a community house fund to commit to this third and final phase of renovations. An additional $40,000 is needed for the following: $20,000 will be used immediately to bridge the current gap and pay all estimated construction costs beyond what's in the current fund, and the remaining $20,000 will be held in reserve to offset any maintenance emergencies or unanticipated construction costs.
The BSCL is asking each Barcroft household to donate $50 - $100 to meet our construction goals. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please make all checks payable to the "Barcroft Community House Fund." You may drop off your donations at the July 4th Parade or you may mail your donation to:

Please include the coupon on this page with your donation so that contributions can be acknowledged, if needed, for tax purposes. Contributions of $100 or more will be memorialized on a plaque inside the Community House.
