Barcroft Message List Servs



Announcements List


The Barcroft School and Civic League has a list for neighborhood announcements on Yahoo Groups. Just use the link to sign up and you will receive a limited number of neighborhood event and info announcements. We use this sparingly, and you can easily unsubscribe if you find it distracting by just sending a message using this link.


Chat List

We also have a neighborhood chat list on Yahoo Groups. It too is free, and you can join by selecting this link and giving them some information about yourself. We use it for chatting about neighborhood topics. Only Barcrofters can post to the list, but anyone can join to listen in.

Here are the rules, to be confirmed at a BSCL meeting soon:

    BSCLchat is the e-mail chat list for discussion of issues and events pertaining specifically to the Barcroft neighborhood in Arlington, Va. Non-residents may subscribe but may not post to the list.

    This list works in tandem with bscl-news-list@yahoogroups.com, a broader circulation list in the Barcroft neighborhood used to announce events both in the neighborhood and of community interest beyond. Posts should be sent to bscl-news-list@yahoogroups.com, and will be made at the discretion of the moderator of the list.

    We ask that the list not be used to promote specific candiates in a political campaign. However, the actions or ideas of politician or as they pertain to Barcroft are fair game. We suggest that those interested in a broader discussion of issues pertaining to South Arlington issues subscribe to Arlington22204-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

    The list must not be used for chain e-mails or spam. Posts must not be vulgar, obscene, libelous or hateful toward any group, race, or ethnicity. Take a deep breath and think before you write! Keep the tone friendly.

If you have a question for the Barcrofter who manages the lists, or want to post an announcement, you can send an email to Mark Wigfield, our list moderator. Mark approves all subscribers, so the list does have a controlled membership.
