Adaline Marye Robertson 1903-2006The family obituaryAdaline worked at the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC for 18 years and was a lifetime member. She also had a passion for genealogy and published a book with her cousin, Edith Eberhart, in 1985 titled, The Maryes of Virginia 1730-1985. This book was an act of devotion towards researching, compiling, and preparing for fourteen years to document her family history. Adaline was a member of numerous societies including The Thomas Nelson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Huguenot Society of Virginia, Descendants of the Colonial Clergy, Arlington Historical Society; and a member of the Barcroft School and Civic League and Order of the Eastern Star, Unity Chapter 201.
A private family graveside service will occur on October 21 at 10 am at the Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church followed by a Memorial Service for friends and relatives at the Arlington Presbyterian Church at 11 am. A reception after the Memorial Service will be provided by the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or the Arlington Presbyterian Church, 3507 Columbia Pike, Arlington, Virginia 22204.
