Welcome to Barcroft Neighborhood
Resolution on Pedestrian Safety at Abingdon/Arlington Boulevard IntersectionApproved by the BSCL on May 1, 2008 RESOLVED: The Pedestrian Crossing at Abingdon/Henderson Road at Arlington Boulevard is UnsafeWhereas there are no painted crosswalks leading to the crossing signal switches on both the north side of the intersection and Whereas there are no paved pedestrian refuges where people can wait for the light to change and Whereas the "WALK" light duration is too short for pedestrians and Whereas this intersection does not meet the standards for pedestrian street crossings established by Arlington County
We, the members of the Barcroft School and Civic League, request that pedestrian safety at Abingdon/Henderson Road crossing at Arlington Boulevard be improved to the same safety standards met at other heavily traveled intersections in Arlington County as a matter of urgent need within the current year.
